Read the Datasheet

The device card names each pin. The pin beside it has a different name.

Try it

Top view of the SOT-23-5 package. The dot marks pin 1. The list on the right is how the card says to wire the part.

Pin 1 is the input. It sits beside GND on the package, and it is still the signal pin.

Why it works

TF-BUF5 has five named pins. VCC is the supply, GND is the return, EN_N turns the part on only when it is held low, IN is the signal, and OUT is the result. Pin 1 sits beside GND on the package and is still the input.

Key takeaway

The device card names each pin. The pin beside it has a different name.

Question 1 of 2

Pin 1 sits next to GND on the package. Is pin 1 ground?
